How to play
Rules
Two modes, one five-letter board, and server-timed rounds.
Versus
Both players secretly submit three different five-letter words. Each player solves the other player's three words in order. Every word allows up to six guesses. Each attempt has a countdown; unused time carries into the next attempt, so a later attempt can have more time. Solving sooner and with fewer guesses produces a higher score. Your progress is independent of your opponent's progress.
Party
Players rotate through the setter role. The setter chooses a secret five-letter word and the other players guess simultaneously. Each setter turn gives every guesser one cumulative timer with no per-attempt reset or attempt lapse. When players finish, the remaining time for the players still guessing is reduced. The setter earns more points when fewer guessers solve the word. A full round is complete after every active player has had one setter turn.
Timers
Timers are decided by the room server. Versus displays the remaining time for the current attempt, while the carried total is used for scoring. Party displays one continuously decreasing cumulative guessing timer for the setter turn, alongside the separate setter countdown.
Hidden information
In Party, the active guesser sees only their own board. The setter and players who have already finished guessing can see every guesser's board, including their submitted letters. Versus opponents see board colors and progress without seeing the other player's guessed letters.
Invalid guesses
Guesses must be five-letter words in WordRush's bundled word list. Invalid entries do not consume an attempt and receive immediate feedback.
